    Thank you for volunteering to MC.

    BEFORE THE CONCERT

    • Meet with the band and find out some information about the group to use in your opening.
    • Remind the band that START TIME is 6 pm.
    • We prefer the END TIME is around 7:30 pm or no later than 8 pm.
    • Let them know when you plan to take the offering so they will need to take a break.
    • Tell them you will give them the offering money at the end of the night.

    START THE CONCERT

    • Say a few sentences about the band – where are they from, what type of music they play, etc.
    • Remind the audience that the schedule is on Facebook.
    • Announce what group is coming next (we ask that you say this at the beginning because some people don’t stay for the full evening).
    • Mention the Port-A-Potty location.
    • There is No Smoking or Vaping on the property.
    • Ask that people not block the street so emergency services can get through.
    • Turn it over to the band to begin.

    TAKE THE OFFERING

    • The offering should be around the middle of the concert, 40 min into the evening.
    • The MC should schedule the offering and let the band know in advance when it will happen.
    • The MC should ask the audience for 6 volunteers to help take the offering. We have 6 buckets to pass around.
    • The MC and Treasurer will stay and count the offering. 
    • People may ask how much the band collected. It’s fine to let them know the amount.
    • Volunteers taking the donation sometimes want to help count. The MC can decide who they want to help count the money.

    END OF CONCERT

    • The MC will give the offering to the band at the end of the evening. If you can’t stay for the full concert, ask Ed or the Treasurer if they will give the offering to the band.
