*** How do I book a night with Ed’s Music? ***
- Contact Rod Schrag, to get on the schedule. Call, Text, or Email.
- Review the schedule above and have a date in mind and he can help get you booked.
- If you are new to Ed’s Music and have not performed here before, provide a sample of your music (website, YouTube, flash drive, cd, or some other format).
Once I am booked, what do I need to know?
SETUP –
- Location: we are located at 3506 Gardenia St, Sarasota, FL 34237.
- You should plan to set up on the day of your performance. You can set up anytime after noon. Most groups set up around 3 or 3:30 pm, then do their soundcheck before the show starts.
- The performing group provides and operates their own sound equipment.
- Ed will be available while you set up should you have any questions or need access to the garage.
- Groups are allowed to set up a table to sell cds and other merchandise related to the group’s operations such as hats, t-shirts or other souvenirs.
STARTING TIME: 6 PM
- The evening begins at 6 pm. Please be ready 15 minutes before (5:45 pm) to speak with the MC.
- We will have an MC assigned to your show. The MC will introduce your group and make some announcements.
- Ed’s Music is considered a Christian outreach. Groups should attempt to have approximately 80% of their songs be gospel in nature. The rest can be love songs, classic country, etc. – refraining from songs about drinking, cheating and wild living.
HOW DOES THE OFFERING WORK?
- Ed’s Music will provide an opportunity for guests to make contributions to the performing group by way of passing baskets through the audience during a break in the program.
- Around 30 or 40 minutes into your show, the MC will come back up, say a prayer, and manage the offering.
- The offering is split 15% to Ed (for the evening’s expenses) and 85% to the group.
- The balance of the offering will be given to you at the end of the night by one of the Board Members.
HOW LONG SHOULD WE PLAY?
- Most of our groups play an hour and a half, from 6 to 7:30 pm. If you plan to play longer, please wrap up by 8 pm.
- Depending on the weather, some groups may only play an hour if it’s a cold evening. You make the call if you need to wrap up early due to weather.
- For rain outs, we will work with you to reschedule for another night based on openings in the schedule.
FACEBOOK and YOUTUBE:
- We have a large following on Facebook and YouTube. (The links are listed above.)
- We currently have over 500,000 views on our YouTube channel.
- We will be Live Streaming your show for our FB followers.
- Following the show we will upload to YouTube. (Usually the following day.)
- Check out our YouTube page to see samples of prior performing artists.
BATHROOM AND COFFEE:
- We have a portable-potty for the public to use. It has running water and flush capabilities.
- Coffee is usually provided each evening for donation.
TEAR DOWN:
- Following the show, please have your group tear down as soon as possible. The audience may want to come up and talk with you, which is fine, but we like to have everything cleared away by 9 pm.
RULES WHILE ON THE PROPERTY:
- NO SMOKING, VAPING, OR DRINKING ALCOHOL AT ANY TIME ON THE PROPERTY.
- Please try not to drive heavy vehicles over the front lawn.
- No parking on the driveway except for loading and unloading. The audience will be setting up their lawn chairs all the way down the driveway.
- Please do not block traffic on the street. The police and emergency vehicles need to have access.
- Please pick up any trash you created following your show.
Any other questions, please contact Rod or Ed.
Thank you.
