    RULES AND PROCEDURES

If you would like to request a booking with Ed’s Music, be sure you have read, understand, and agree to the rules and procedures below. IF YOU DON’T AGREE WITH ANYTHING BELOW, DO NOT BOOK WITH ED’S MUSIC.

    SETUP AND SOUND CHECK:

    • Location: We are located at 3506 Gardenia St, Sarasota, FL 34237.
    • You should plan to set up on the day of your performance. You can set up anytime after noon. Most groups set up around 3 or 3:30 pm, then do their soundcheck before the show starts.
    • The performing group provides and operates their own sound equipment.
    • Ed will be available while you set up should you have any questions or need access to the garage.
    • Groups are allowed to set up a table to sell cds and other merchandise related to the group’s operations such as hats, t-shirts or other souvenirs.
DISCLAIMER: Ed’s Music disclaims, and your group agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ed’s Music from all responsibility for any claims arising from your group’s operations or sales of merchandise and souvenirs.

    STARTING TIME:  6 PM

    • The concert should begin at 6 pm.
    • You may kick off your show or we sometimes have an MC who will kick off the show and make some announcements.
    • We will have the MC come up mid-show to announce the offering and offer prayer. This also provides a short break for your band.
    • Ed’s Music is considered a Christian outreach. Groups should attempt to have approximately 80% of their songs be gospel in nature. The rest can be love songs, classic country, etc. – refraining from songs about drinking, cheating, and wild living.

    HOW THE OFFERING WORKS?

    • Ed’s Music will provide an opportunity for the audience to make donations to the band by way of passing baskets through the audience during a break in the program.
    • The MC will come up to announce the offering, say a prayer, and ask for volunteers.
    • Ed’s Music will provide the buckets and volunteers to pass the buckets for the offering.
    • The Treasurer counts the money and gives it to Ed to give to the band.
    • 85% of the offering goes to the band. 15% of the offering goes to Ed’s Music and is used for expenses related to the show (insurance, port a potty, signs, printed flyers, traffic cones, lighting, etc.).
    • The balance of the offering is given to the band at the end of the night.
DISCLAIMER: Ed’s Music disclaims any responsibility for and your group shall be solely responsible for any tax consequences related to such offerings / contributions.

    HOW LONG SHOULD YOU PLAY?

    • Most of our groups play an hour and a half, from 6 to 7:30 pm. If you plan to play longer, please wrap up by 8 pm.

    ☔️ Rain-Outs and Cold Weather ⛄️

    • In cold weather, bands may want to start earlier. For example; you may want to start at 5 pm instead of 6 pm for more daylight. Or you may want to end your show early. Musician’s fingers get cold and instruments go out of tune. The band makes the decision what they want to do. If you decide to start your concert early, we will help you get the word out on our FB page.
    • For rain-outs, the band decides if they want to cancel due to rain. Sound equipment is expensive so it’s best to be cautious. Plus our audience doesn’t show up when it’s wet. If you have to cancel your concert due to rain, we will work with you and try to reschedule for another time based on openings in the schedule. We cannot guarantee reschedules but will work with you and try to find an opening.
DISCLAIMER: Ed’s Music and your Band have no liability to each other should the performance be cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances (weather, technical issues, medical issues, force majeure, etc.)
